Question:

If I buy a car in a different state does the finance company send a separate check to my state for taxes?

The state I'm buying the car from isn't charging taxes because I'm having the car shipped & it will never touch the streets after being sold. so I'll have to pay taxes when I register it here & I want to make sure it's covered in the loan.

  1. Matt is correct. The amount that is on the contract you signed is the only money that the finance company will lay out.

You will need to pay the tax yourself.

  2. The finance company is not involved in paying your taxes. You must pay them out of pocket along with the registration fees when you register the car at the DMV.
