If I buy a car radio from America will it work in the UK & Ireland?

Will the FM band be the same as UK or same as Japan or something different?

  1. yes, it will since all car radios have a wide range of frequency covered in it and shifting the radio frm 1 place 2 other may have a slight distraction in the wave u receive but nevertheless it will work pretty well

Yes, for the most part.  The US FM band is every .5 (98.5, 99.0) for example) and the UK (and Europe) is every .4 (98.5, 98.9 for example)  But usually the stations are not SO close that they bleed over, so if you have a station that is .4 and you can only get to .5, it will still be clear.  If it is more than .2 off, if may be a little scratchy.

    So American car steros FM tuners are set to .5.  But, if you have something that can auto search to .1, you're good to go.
