If I buy a pair of eyeglass frames off of ebay could I take them in and get my eye prescription put in them?

  1. It's completely possible...but you may end up paying more money than if you bought a complete pair...see if your local eyeglass store has the capability of special ordering the frame and making the complete pair for you.

    Keep in mind that you will be using your own frame at your own risk and depending on where you get it done there may be a surcharge for edging the lenses.


  2. They'd likely be fine to put prescription lenses into. You do run a risk that the lab you take them to will not be able to put lenses in or they will break the frame.  For 3.49 it is probably worth the risk.

  3. Most Rxs would be fine in such a frame.  I'd suggest pricing transitions® lenses, because the frame would look cool as sunglasses too!

  4. Those are cute!  

    Yeah you can.  Most places will charge you a fee to trace the frame.  The frame looks plastic, so they can always heat it up if adjustments need to be made.
