Question:

If I buy a phone online will it work with my SIM card?

I've had the AT&T Tilt for about 9 months and I'm kind of bored with it. Plus a few buttons don't work anymore and my "s" button I have to press really hard - not fun when trying to text! Anyway, I was researching phones and I like the new Motorola V3XX Lavender phone. I went on Ebay and found a few. I usually just wait until my upgrade comes to get a new phone, but that's not for another year!

So my main question is, if I buy the Motorola phone will it work with the SIM card I have now? (it said something about it needs to be GMS.. so i went on AT&T's website and clicked on the stats for my phone and it said it was GMS).

Will I have any problems activating it, or is it really as simple as popping in the SIM card? Any other help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

  1. Yes it's true that if your phone and the phone you are thinking of buying are GSM capable that you can just put your sim card in and it should work. The thing is, I wouldn't recommend the phone you are getting, my sister has it and it sucks. All Motorola phones do. Go with an LG. Hope I helped!

  2. If that phone ur going to buy offline from ebay says its unlocked or compatible with the at&t network u should be absolutely fine with jus popping ur SIM card in and having all ur info come up.
