My laptop should have a built-in Marvell adapter card but everytime I search for my wireless router it doesn't find it. There are no Firewalls or security things so that's not the problem. If I buy a usb adapter for my laptop will it definately connect to it?

  1. No, not always. Wireless adapters that are usually pre-installed in laptop computers must be compatible with the router(s) that you want to connect it to. Although most wireless cards can operate on both primary router bands (802.11n and 802.11b/g) some of them do not. It is worth the money to buy a better wireless card that can operate on both primary bands. That way, you can connect to any router that you have access to.

  2. Yes, it is all but guaranteed.  There is a slim chance that it might not but not very likely.  Just get one and you should be fine.

Please don't open this link below my post, it could very well be a virus and it is probably a scam anyway.
