  1. If your Mac has an Intel chip and you have the most current version of FCE 4.0, yes...

So... after you copy the files to the Mac and you delete the files from the camcorder... then you edit the video project and decide you are finished so you output to a h.264 data file... and the DVD you burn is in standard definition if you use the Mac's superdrive...

Awesome... Project is done, delete the project files because the next project is coming in the door...

You remember that video you got that would go great in the new project??? oh wait - it is gone. Unless you maintain a full set of copies of the original video data files on another drive or a set of DVDs...

    or...

THIS BAND IS SO LOUD - WAIT, THE HARD DRIVE IS LOCKING UP... because the vibrations from the music are causing the hard drive heads to park so the camcorder goes into buffer overflow and won't record... Page 5 of the Handbook.

    or...

OMG! This is SO beautiful being at the top of this mountain... wait... is it higher than 9,800 feet? I *hope* this works because I'm never going to be here again... Page 5 of the Handbook.

But yeah - if you actually capture video, then copy/drag/drop is pretty much it...
