Its all connected to the same house aerial but there is no picture or sound on any of the bbc's but there isnt a problem on any other channel.

The aerial is pointed at Sandy Heath and the signal quality is about 7 or 8 out of 10 for all other channels. I have retuned the box downstairs and even swapped the boxes and its only downstairs that they dont work.

Any ideas?

  1. Feeding more than 1 TV from an aerial can result in signal degradation to the extent that a TV cannot recognise it. Try an inline signal booster.

  2. It must be the aerial - use an aerial amplifier with two outputs. There are some cheap ones at Asda.

You might also try the TV downstairs - just in case!

  3. Have you tried retuning your freeview box just incase it is a glitch! Happens from time to time!

    Good luck.

  4. there is not good signal upstairs is is due to

several factors the lack of sognals cable up stairs

  5. You need to re-scan with the freeview box. Sometimes they up date signals and you find you have lost the Channels. Try the scan it should work.

  6. How are the two aerial sockets connected to the aerial?  A simple splitter in the cable somewhere or a splice at that aerial itself loses a lot of signal strength, and you are better off with a powered signal amplifier if possible. I am far from an expert but you have certainly tried everything that I would have done!

  7. You may need to retune your tv as well as the freeview,so as to make sure the digital signal is coming through on the av channel? Is the tv getting ordinary bbc?If not it sounds like it needs retuned, hope this helps
