If I check in Saturday morning to a motel and leave Sunday evening, do I only pay for the night?

Most motels have a checkout time of 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.  So yes, if you check out after Sunday, at 1:00 pm, you may have to pay for a second night.

Note: Often times you can request a "late" check out, and check out around 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm or so.

Check with the manager, as each motel often has their own policy.

if check out is at 11AM or 12PM on sunday then you either have to pay an late check out fee or sometimes hotels/motels will allow you to extend your stay for no charge if you ask when you check in
