That would cost about $5000 for the conversion and a hydrogen converter installed at your home that would make fuel for about 50 cents a liter, would you be interested?

  1. If you can prove your claims, and the converted car meets U.S. DOT and EPA standards I would be interested.  I doubt you can do this, however, so you will have to demonstrate it to my satisfaction before I put up any money.

  2. That depends. You would have to show me what the energy/liter with the hydrogen conversion is vs. energy/liter of gasoline. You'd have to tell me how much hydrogen I can carry and what the typical range of driving before I have to refuel is. 50cts/liter is about $2/gal, but if I'm sacrificing significant range or power then gasoline is still the better choice. Assuming you'd give me the same range/power as gasoline, and assuming that gas stayed constant at $4.00/gal and the cost of production of hydrogen stayed constant, and that I could still get 50 mpg (I drive an Insight), I think I'd have to drive 125000 miles to break even on the conversion (my math might be suspect). I suspect, however, that range and power would be significantly lower, so the cost of the conversion becomes significant.

  3. I'm American, i don't speak metric

  4. Now because i like my 1980 Dodge Aspen i would simply get a license and start to make moonshine and do it legally for my car. maybe sell a little on the side to my friends to fuel them up as well

  5. If we truly care about the environment (not just the almighty dollar), then the answer is yes.

  6. i would be interested to know more about it
