If I create a graphic in Adobe Illustrator, how do I export the layers to Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Fireworks?

Question

I want to export the layers to Adobe Photoshop or Adobe fireworks, so I can add animation to only one layer. Also, which program is better for animated gifs.

I think you go to export layers from the file pull-down menu. I'm not totally sure so just in case check out the help options from the menu or go to either adobe.com or peachpit.com for more info.

As far as I know, you can create animated gifs using either Photoshop or Fireworks. You can use which program you're most comfortable with. (I used Photoshop a few times to create them for a project.)

And why not start creating your work in Photoshop or Fireworks off the bat so you won't have to worry about exporting layers and stuff to other programs.

Just a thought.
