I know I could just buy an external filter and put it on to filter the water. But how could I drain the water? Because there isn't just a drain in the ground, and I don't know how (if at all) I could make one, and I am sure it would cost a lot to have one installed. Isn't there just a way I can make a drain, or otherwise drain it on my own?

  1. you could siphon it out with a garden hose ,place the garden hose in the water and weight it down to the bottom ,turn on the water at the faucet ,when you get all the air out of the hose ,disconnect from the faucet ,if you are lower than the deepest part of the pool the water will just flow out.......,you could buy one of those drill pumps hook up the hose turn on the drill..........tom

  2. If you eventually give up on draining the pool yourself you could always look in a phone book for people who specialize in draining a pool.

The best help I could give you is an overflow drain where you basically put a large pvc pipe in the ground with one end at the side of the pool against it's edge where the pool would overflow if overfilled. the pipe should be underground mostly with the exception of both ends... The bottom end should be far enough away that it drains without causing too much of a problem, then take a shovel and put in a makeshift ditch that is about as wide as the pipe and approximately one foot deep that leads away from anything important so it can drain off... I know it's not the same but it is the same way you drain dirt roads and driveways..in some places they are used on concrete and asphalt roads.

  3. Just buy a 2"electric submersible pump and hose.No Problem, just drop it in!
