If I decided to rent out my jet ski to some people for a hourly rate would I have to get liability insurance?

I want to rent out my jet ski's over the summer and make a few bucks can I do that and not have to purchase liability insurance ?

  1. Yes!

    It is your property and you are responsible any damage it incurs.

    You could charge a higher rate for renting to cover the cost of the insurance.


  2. Liability insurance is a must! Waiver of Liability also. No one under the age of 18 to ride or drive. Also owner is not responsible for damage or misuse of the jet-ski. Owner not responsible for injuries or death due to use or misuse of jet-ski. Owner not responsible for civil or small claims suits brought upon rider of jet-ski. Better make sure you cover all your liability issues BEFORE you consider renting your jet-ski.

  3. If you are smart you do.  If someone gets hurt, and yes it can happen to you, they WILL sue you!!

  4. I don't think you technically have to.  But you really, really should.  If some one gets hurt on your jetski and you're uninsured... potentially that's you losing everything you own.
