If I did well on the writing section of the SAT, will colleges consider it?

I received a 690 in math, 680 in reading, and a 700 in writing. I am really hoping that colleges like Boston College and Boston U. will look at the writing score. Do most colleges like these at least glance at the writing score?

  1. Yes most competitive schools like Tufts, BC, Holy Cross, BU all look at the Writing component but don't weight it equally.  However doing extremely well on it can only help.

  2. If you have a great GPA and are in the top 10% you may also take a look at top ranked SAT optional schools like Bowdoin, Bates, Holy Cross and others.  Complete list at www.fairtest.org.
