If I do home schooling will I loose my SSI check?

I'm 15, I'm currently enrolled in a public school in North Carolina.

I was wondering if I unenrolled from public school and enrolled

with Penn Foster (a home schooling program) if it would effect

my SSI check.

  1. probably not but check with the your state (your local division of) social security office


  2. No. I'm blind and homeschooled independently without any program at all, and I still get the same ammount for SSI as I would if I were still in public school.

  3. No.  I'm guessing your check is for survivor benefits after losing a parent.  They will send you that check until you are 18 even if you aren't in school.  If you are in high school after you turn 18, you will receive it until graduation.  I do not know if that applies to home schooling after age 18 but I do know that home schooling won't have any effect prior to age 18.

  4. NO you wont, I know this because my son gets SSI, & he's been homeschooled since he was in the 4th grade, he's now going in the 6th grade on 9-1-08. He still gets his SSI checks to this day.
