If I do the following, will I be in shape for gymnastics in the fall?

hey I'm a prep op 2 gymnast (level 6-7) and I can't do any gymnastics this summer. If I do the following at least 5 days a week, will I still be (somewhat) in shape to continue gymnastics in the fall?

-run 10 minutes

-press handstands with ankle weights

(straddle first, then work pikes)

-wrist strengthening

-ankle strengthening

-all 3 splits for 2 minutes

(once they're down, oversplits)

-back flexibility (bridges)

and some basic skills such as rolls,

walkovers, handspring step outs,

handstands, handstand walks, etc.

  1. Wow...looks like an impressive workout. Add a little more carido such as some V-ups and lunges (gotta keep those abs and calves in check) and I would say you are set!


  2. Don't forget to hold your handstands up against a wall for 90 seconds. Also do pushups.

  3. yeahh. you should be.

    try doing some crunches and push ups too.

    if ur gonna work out, make sure you keep the basics going 2.

    never wanna have weak arms or a weak stomach.
