If I do this, what happens?

I am going to restore my computer becuz ive got this update manager thing that keeps coming up, but I just spent like 2 hours Defragging my comp. So if I do this, will it matter that i defragged, or wat?

  1. No, defrag merely rearranges how data is stored on the hard drive.

    However, there are 2 types of restores....

    Full restore...brings it back to the way you bought it...and you wipe out everything.

    And the basic restore...

    This will merely uninstall programs and settings that occured between now ...and the restore point you pick.


  2. You should spend more like 2 days defragging.  If you restore your computer, you won't have defragged, and anything else you've done between is gone, like it never happened.

    OR do you mean a system restore?  Don't do that, everything goes away, your back to scratch.

    Your update manager is for your help, you can always just uninstall the update.  Go to  'control panel [classic view]-programs - click the view updates, and uninstall the latest one...
