never used it before, never heard of it either. My ph was finally ok and seems like the pool company gets me with something new instead of alkalinity plus, or am I wrong?

  1. Chances are you do not need phosphate removers. This has been being pushed by the pool industry lately. Most phosphates are actually good for your pool and usually prevent algae. Orthophosphates feed algae. Your phosphate level needs to be 3000ppb or higher for you to start encountering problems. I wouldnt worry about it if you keep your chlorine at the appropriate levels (10% of your CYA level if you dont know your CYA then 3-5ppm). Side note. Dont waster your money on expensive alkalinity plus. Look at the active ingredient- sodium bicarbonate. Now look at the active ingredient in Arm and Hammer Baking Soda- sodium bicarbonate. Same thing and much cheaper.

  2. Just shock it once a week and vaccumn ever so often and you'll be in good shape.
