The server should offer the bottle and the taster to the person who orders the bottle.  If the gentleman orders it, he should taste it.  If the server or gentleman offers you to taste the wine, either:

taste it, smile, and nod in approval - "tastes great"

or

"I trust ______'s opinion when it comes to wine.  _____ why don't you try it"

and then get on with dinner.
