  1. yes it is.  the reason is that you could end up dazzling someone at night as your lights will point the wrong way.  you don't have to attach headlight convertors though, just a square piece of sticky tape over the appropriate part of the lens.


  2. We always put yellow converters on our headlamps when driving in France;  other drivers get a bit irate if you dazzle them!!

  3. Yes. Even if only driving in daylight.

  4. Yes you do.  You can get some little stickers which just stick onto the headlamps which are easy to fit and just stop the lights from pointing at the on coming traffic.

    I got mine free when I purchased temporary international car insurance.  They came in the pack.
