Question:

If I drop my contact lense on dirt will it harm, rip , or damage the lense in any way?

Im not sure if it was dirt , rocky concrete , or just grass.

  1. It might.

    You would be able to tell if it did.  A rip would be obvious.  That's the only thing it would do.


  2. It could scratch it &/or contaminate it.  Give it a rinse with saline and have a good look at it - if it's not too scratched, clean with a good contacts cleanser, then leave it in solution for a few hours.  Should be ok - hope you can salvage it!

  3. You should throw out the lens. There is too great a risk of having scratched the lens, the lens coming into contact with all sorts of bacteria... not fun stuff.

    Your eyes are more important than a lens you can throw out and replace.
