If I embed an executable file in a JPEG file...?

will it execute when the JPEG is opened? To embed, I compressed the executable file, and added them to the JPEG by using COPY /B picture.jpg + x.7z newfilename.jpg, which was successful. So, upon opening the pic does the executable work, or does it literally have to be extracted and double clicked? Thanks.

There was a buffer overflow trick a long time ago that let you do something like that but it's been patched.

It has to be extracted. And stop trying to trick people into downloading programs.
