  1. Bonus will depend on MANY variable factors.  Your recruiter will be your very best source of info on this topic

  2. Any bonus will be just that- a bonus. The real payoff is what counts. The life experience that you obtain during your enlistment will be worth a lot more that any bonus.

I joined on my 17th birthday and declined to reenlist; to this day I have profound memories of both the training and experiences. The good times and the life defying tour of duty continue to influence my thinking.

Three degrees were the result of my taking advantage of the GI Bill; I had joined the Army with 2 yrs of high school.

Take advantage of what the military offers and you will always be able to look with pride at years you served. Remember it's not the pay off; only a bonus; don't make a major decision based on a one time bonus.

  3. Not likely. Most bonuses are paid over time. You would probably need to at least complete boot camp before any money was paid to you. Even then, it would depend on what MOS you qualify for.

  4. Probably not. I'm ex-military myself and I know for a fact that half the things they tell you are a lie. All the goodies they promise you, you're gonna have to beg, borrow, and steal to get them. Joining the military is not worth it. I can guarantee you the first thing they're gonna do as soon as you get out of basic training is send you over to Iraq. You're just a puppet  to them.

  5. Sign a contract in September for the most money in bonuses. Will get your first bonus after you get to your first duty station and submit your packet to the S1.
