My current body fat is way over standards. I'm not happy at all with what the Navy turned out to be. Simply put, I'm purposely failing the weigh-ins to get out. NAVREGS state automatic AdminSep after 3 failures in 4yrs.I just wanna know what kind of discharge in particular, an Honorable or General under honorable condiions? I've never been in any sort of trouble, DRB, XOI, or Captan's Mast. I've been doing my job well, its just that the NAVY is NOT for me. I'm asking this question also in light of the recent GI Bill Law. Will I still be eligible after I get out? Pls help. Thanks

  1. Based on another person's question, who stated he got a general discharge for not passing the annual PT test due to being overweight, I believe in your case, it would be a general discharge as well.

  2. See the following for GI Bill eligibility.

    http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/In...

One thing though is if you've been in less than a year and haven't had the total contribution deducted you won't get anything.

  3. If you have been in for more than 90 days, You still qualify for Veteran's Benefits. If your record is clean, it's all good. Seek help from your unit's  Chaplin.

  4. Most likely a general discharge though the actual determination is made by the overall character of service (though there have been changes recently that may mandate a general).  If you get a general you are not eligible for your GI Bill benefits.

I suggest you lose the weight and do your time.

  5. GUH at minimum.. if they have any reason to believe you are doing this purposely.. they will make sure you lose that honorable designation..meaning No GI Bill.

  6. Strewth!

I hope they don't attach any honour to being fat! Can't you just shoot yourself in the foot or something?

  7. you will probably get an general discharge. but after i think 2-4 years in turn in to an honorable.
