  1. I have the same problem, I owe federal ! I finally got the rebate payment thing working today and they are taking what I owe and sending me the rest.It says I qualify for $600 but am only getting $258.00 for my rebate and it will be mailed June 20th, hope this helps.I finally got my answer today after wondering about it all this time. They do take your taxes if you owe.....

  2. Yes, you'd be eligible - but if you haven't paid what you owe, it will be taken from the stimulus payment.

  3. Just owing for 2007 won't stop you from getting the rebate but owing and not paying will.  You mentioned that you owed for 2007 but seem to being saying that you haven't paid it yet.

If that is the case, your stimulus rebate will be put towards your balance due.

  4. As long as you actually paid what you owed and are otherwise eligible, yes you will receive the rebate.  If you have not paid yet your rebate will be applied against the debt first, with any remainder, if any, going to you.

  5. No, the government will apply the stimulus amount to your debt. Believe me, I owed $ 17,000.00 at one time.

  6. Yes, as long as you meet the other qualifications - $3000 or more income and are not somebody else's dependent.
