  1. ..here's the 'thing' about taking a fossil to a museum...  they have the idea that fossils don't belong to people... they think a fossil belong to posterity.

    With that attitude in play, they then want to have your information of where it was found, so THEY can go gather the rest of it.

    If you are in any way obtuse about 'them' being the rightful keepers of the possessions of posterity, they can and often do prosecute for breaking the law of eminent possession [of a fossil...]

      My advice is to hold your treasure until some one known to you offers you a price you consider worthy of your find.
