If I found out someone was faking a relationship for money could I sue?

I was dating this person, i thought, for some months last year... Long story short, we parted and they ran off because they were having a midlife crisis or something.. and now they're back in town and I find out that the person basically told everyone they were single back when we were supposedly dating. Can I sue to get back all the money they got out of me? Would'nt it be false pretense? It's more trouble then it's worth, but it's sort of the principle. Since now the person is back in town, just bought a new house, etc... and I've asked for help money wise since I'm having trouble of my own and I've gotten the cold shoulder.

maybe.  but you cant fake a relationship.  unless you are both faking.  ther in it for the money...  thats a usual reason to be in a relationship.

You are right, it is more trouble than it is worth.  Especially if you are having money problems, the cost of a lawsuit would likely be yours to bear, since there is not a large enough recovery for most attorneys to take it on a contingency.

Besides, they probably did not date you under false pretenses.  You both decided you weren't the perfect couple.  That is really what dating is all about, spending time with someone to see if that is your soul mate.  When you know you are not you move on.

I am sorry that you feel taken advantage of.  But, if you couldn't afford to spend money then you should not have spent it.  You can't buy love, so in the future don't spend more than you can afford.

Sorry that you are having financial problems now, but the person is not obligated to do anything for you out of gratitude for what you did for them.  You didn't expect the money back at the time, did you?  If you did you should have told them so.

courts usually penalize a male in any relationship .If you hustle a chick the judge would make you repay her.If a chick hustles you the judge will say you are a pervert and deserved to lose your money .....

it is a business,they are getting wealthy and that is just the way it is
