Hi all! I'm just curious about something. I have an A.A.S. degree in Computer Information Systems, a B.S. degree is Psychology, and I'm thinking about getting my Master's degree (M.S.) in Computer Science. I've done extensive research online and I've found that many people with a Master's degree in Computer Science with no experience almost always start out making at least $60k per year. Is this first year salary figure realistic? So, here's my question. If I get a Master's degree in Computer Science, can I expect to make an almost always high salary in the US? I ultimately would like to work for the US federal government in an IT field. Any answers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  1. Hi there. I suggest that you can chat with recruiters on Jobirn.com to know the fact. If you would like to find yourself job, it is also the place for you.

  2. I don't know about a master's degree entry-level salary. I believe most entry-level programming jobs start around $40,000, but that's for people with bachelor's degrees.

The IT job market is so tight that you might be making nothing unless you get some experience. IMO, you should get a job now, work it for a year, and then you can expect $60,000, if you don't already have it. You can work on the master's degree part time, if you like.

If you want to work for the US government, here are their current IT jobs with skill requirements and salaries. http://jobsearch.usajobs.gov/jobsearch.a...
