  1. I find with most rodents keeping them in pairs is best, they can get depressed if they are alone, so a pair is best.

  2. Well it depends if its a girl or boy guinea pig if its a girl give it a boy if its a boy give it a girl  cause if you put 2 boys or 2 girls they may end up fighting.

  3. Yes, absolutely. Pigs should be housed in pairs or larger groups.

Be sure that if you get babies that they are properly sexed. This is how accidental litters come about.

Please consider adopting a bonded pair from a local shelter or rescue!

  4. Guinea pigs need both your attention and the companionship of other pigs. It's best to keep them in groups of two to five if you have the space, time, and money. If you don't get at least two, your guinea pig may actually injure himself and die of loneliness. Good luck with your piggies!

  5. yes u should! they need other companions and they need each other! plz do or the one u get will get depressed and maby sick! get two! u and ur guinea pigs will be happier

  6. Yes.  Guinea pigs are very social animals and are happiest when kept with other guinea pigs.  Just make sure that they are the same s*x because you definitely don't want baby guinea pigs!  Please consider adopting instead of buying, there are many guinea pigs in shelters that need homes.

Also, I would really recommend reading through the care guide on guinea lynx it has so much information on how to properly care for guinea pigs.

Finally, don't waste your money and buy a pet store cage.  They are almost always way too small for one guinea pig, let alone two.  You can build a huge cage for very little money.

  7. hii Krissy, You should get your guinea pig another baby guinea pig to play with because guinea pigs love company and your guinea pig wont be lonely! But make sure you give equal affection to both of them. And an equal amount of food. Also, make sure they have enough cage space so they dont feel congested. Make sure you get the same gender, because if you get the wrong gender, they can have babies and guinea pigs multiply fast!

GOOOODD LUCKKKK!!! To you and your guinea pig! have fun!

  8. It's ok to put two G.P.'s together but you should put them in to their new home at the same time so that there's no competition for ownership. Make sure they're the same s*x too. Both from the same breeder or pet shop would be ideal.

  9. Definitely get another guinea pig. Guinea pigs are strictly herd animals and thoroughly enjoy having company. When guinea pigs are alone during the day they get extremely lonely unless they have a guinea pig friend to keep them company. They love to run around and play together, sleep together, and eat together.

But if you get a baby guinea pig, it's best not to get another BABY guinea pig. They tend to be very hormonal at that age and therefore two young guinea pigs are more likely to fight. Adopt your guinea pigs from a shelter or rescue and go for one young guinea pig and one that is at least a year old. They usually get along the best, and your older guinea pig will still be extremely young by guinea pig standards.
