  1. Yes ,but it is a digital antenna the one you have now is analog. You can find them ot Home Depot. Plus, if you have Hi-Def you can also find HD-Digital antenna.(not sure how they work though) but they are not that much more.

  2. If your current TV has a digital tuner (ATSC or the like) and you want to dump your cable company and get HD from your local channels (NBC, CBS, ABC etc.) then you will be fine with just an antenna.

However, if you just have an NTSC television only, you will need to purchase one of those converter boxes you've heard so much about (I think they're fairly cheap) - as well as have an antenna connection.

  3. Nope, those bad boys will be obsolete and good riddance if you ask me!

  4. Yes you will still need an antenna.

Digital and analog TV broadcasts are sent out in essentially the same way.

In North America the same antennas are used. If you already have an antenna that gives you good analog reception, it is probably good for digital also.

You will find plenty of BS artists that will tell you that you have to get a new "HD" antenna. In North America all TV antennas, even 30 year old ones, are "HD" Digital" "DTV" ....

This is not to imply that the best antenna for digital reception is the same as for analog, but this has to do with your local conditions and has nothing to do with a "HD" label on the outside of a box.
