the stock pressure plate is already heavy duty for this v6 this is the stage 2 spec clutch kit

  1. you should also purchase the matching pressure plate as they are designed to work together [note the spring forces are much higher but effort is still light] (by comparison) than even a heavy duty pressure plate due to diaphragm spring design

    cleaning the steel surfaces with carb. clean is not enough [clean unused lacquer thinner is ok as a final rinse, kevlar clutches do not like any oil [not even oil fumes]be sure of rear crankshaft seal and transmission input shaft seal as well as clutch hydraulics [note2 if this happens to be a general motors v-6 make sure the back of the intake manifold[where it seals to the valley] is dry as even a small oil leak here can affect clutch life..
