If I get a new cell phone but keep the same number, will my voicemails be saved or is everything erased?

Voice mails are kept on the server, not on the actual phone. So the voice mails would be transfered over to your new cell.

Your voicemail should not be affected if your number and account are not changing, as the voicemail is not saved in your phone handset but in your provider's system. Upgrading or just switching your phone doesn't affect your voice mail.

I have never switched when I had voice-mail, BUT I didn't have to re-record my answering machine. Seems like the same principle.
