I plan on using the external modem and cables I used with the old computer for my new computer. I still have a DSL installation disk. Is that all I will need to hook up the new computer to the internet? Is it possible to transfer my internet service to the new computer by hooking it up to the old cables and using the old installation disk, or will there be difficulty and extra costs to transfer my internet service to the new computer? The new computer will be in the same house as the old one was, and the old computer will no longer be in use.

  1. No, you will just need to install everything on the other computer, set it up, and your good to go. There will be no fee or charge of any kind. You could have several computers running at once and although the connection would be slower the price per month would stay the same

  2. AT&T Yahoo! DSL won't cost any extra if you add or replace a computer on your home network.  I have 6 desktop and notebook systems in my local area network connecting to AT&T Yahoo! DSL.  And "to transfer my internet service to the new computer," you shouldn't have to resort to using the old DSL installation disk.  You should be able to get your new computer online by just connecting it to the modem with a network cable or possibly through a wireless adapter.

  3. just unplug your old computer, and plug in the new computer the same way, and you may not even need the disc.  If it doesn't work the first time, just power cycle the modem, and should be good to go.
