  1. The only cases where sequestration is required are those where the media is heavily involved and/or there is a likelihood the jury will be tampered with or endangered.  Those are extremely rare.  

    Judges try to find ways not to sequester a jury whenever they can.


  2. Yes, they are rare, but there's always a chance.  It really depends on the case.  If it's a murder case or it involves something that has been getting a lot of media attention, chances are pretty good that the jury will be sequestered.

  3. They aren't very common.  It will depend on what the case is and what kind of court you are serving.
