  1. You know, it sure would be nice if people reading these questions actually paid attention to what they read!  The asker didn't ask, "are you glad you have juries?"  they asked:  "If I get chosen...... to report, etc."!

Call the Clerk of Court and ask them.

  2. During the week.

  3. Court is held Monday thru Friday only.  Unless you get assigned to a big case. Then you will be sequestered !  ( put into a hotel to be kept away from everyone: friends, relatives, the media.)

  4. It depends on the case and how close it is too finishing.   For most cases, in my experience, most judges will let the jury go home at the end of the day on Friday and start back up on Monday, even if in deliberation.  For a case that requires a sequestered jury (i.e. the jury is kept in a hotel until the case is finished), most judges will make the lawyers continue with evidence on Saturday (but not Sunday) so that the case can be done sooner and the juries can get back to their lives, especially if the case is almost done.

  5. You should ask the judge when you get seated to be a juror.

  6. Feel gratified your country has juries.

    Most countries only have judges.

Would you rather trust your life, your freedom, your fortune to the common people or someone of an elite group?

  7. Generally just during the week - but it is possible (although very unlikely) that the jury will be sequestered. This means to remove the jury from outside influence - primarily the media in a high profile case. This may involve staying away from home and thus not being able to follow normal weekend activities.

  8. I didn't have to go on weekends, just during the week.
