  1. NO.

If she does this, she is in violation of the law.

  2. Probably so. In fact, every lease I've ever had said so.

  3. Try reading your lease agreement.  If there is nothing mentioned about this topic, the landlord can do whatever they want.  It was up to you to have things like this spelled out before you rented.  Most agreements say the landlord reserves the right to show the property as long as they give you a day or two notice.

  4. She sure can

  5. Sure she can, but she should inform you when they are due for a visit. As long as you live there, your privacy should not be disturbed.

  6. Yes, although most of them do give you time to get the place cleaned up! Most likely she'll ask you when a good time is to bring prospective renters by to view the place.

  7. With you proper notice (time line depends on state law) yes.  She doesn't need you permission either.

  8. Absolutely she can, as long as she provides appropriate notice according to your lease/state statutes.

Do you actually think that a landlord must forego showing an available property until it it vacant ?

You need to understand that you do not OWN the property, and that the owner is allowed to do what is necessary to procure another tenant without loss of rents.  Your state/local statutues govern the ability to show the property, but in most cases nothing more than a 24 hour advance notice is required.  In my state, it only twelve hours.
