There isn't an Amtrak station anywhere near Barnegat.  You'd have to go to Trenton, Philly, or Metropark.

The train ride from Trenton to Vallejo takes 3 days, 9 hours, and 48 minutes and costs $192.50 one way if you can get the cheapest seat on each train according to amtrak.com.

You could get a one-way ticket on Airtran Airways from Newark to San Francisco, with a layover in Atlanta for $189 and it would only take about 9 hours.
