I'm in 10th grade thinking of going to online school next year and my senior year. Will this be bad to get into college with? Im not going to a superior college im probably going to a lower branch then transfer to main campus. Is this alright?

  1. it wan't look as good, adn make sure it's accredited or you will not be able to apply for financial aid

  2. Apparently you can only do maths, english and science (in England this is)

  3. psshht.. yea you can easily

I am a senior doing schooling online

and I have already been accepted to 3 different colleges

    good luck

  4. yes

  5. The first thing to realize is that if your online school is one sponsored by your school district, or another one in your state, then it's a public school just like what you're in now.  So you'd have transcripts and a diploma from them.

If you pay the online school tuition yourself (well, your parents), then yes, you can still get into college just fine.  Just make sure you take the required high school classes.  Then also keep a portfolio and transcript of your work, and take the ACT or SAT.  Your parents, or your online school, can issue you a diploma.

I would look into some colleges this year and find out their requirements for entering HS'ing students.  You might also want to take some community college courses (IRL or online) while you're still in high school.

  6. yes you can go on home schooling and still get into college !!  But if you stay in public school you have a better chance of extra curricular activities.

  7. You need to investigate the college of your choice to find out their requirements.   Most require SAT, ACT or placement test of some sort.

Many homeschoolers go to college.   You may want to do search in the archives of Y!A for encouragement and direction.

  8. As long as the school you are "attending" on-line is accredited you shouldn't have a problem. I would check to make sure that they can issue a diploma and transcripts before you enroll because that is what your local college is going to want to see. My wife's sister was home-schooled through all 12 grades but the final year she enrolled in a private on-line school so that she would have a diploma for college. She loved it and it worked great. She went to a Technical college for Art and design, graduated and is now working in her field.

Do your research in advance and you shouldn't have any problems.
