If I got a Rx for normal contacts, do I have to get another one for colored ones?

Heys!

I just got a new Rx for my normal, clear contacts - but now I'm thinking that it might be fun to get some colored ones as well, just to mix things up once in awhile. I already bought a years supply of normal contacts, but if I wanted to get a box or two of colored ones, do I need to get a seperate Rx, or can I use the one I already have?? Also, if I can use the one I have and I order from 1800Contacts or something, when they call my eye doctor will he still approave it even though I already bought a years supply of normal contacts?? I really don't feel like paying for another fitting since I don't have insurance, so if I can't use the Rx I already got (for noncolored lenses) then I guess I just won't try out the colored ones.

  1. Realy, I would give your Doctor a chance to tell you what his ideas would be. You might not have to have a separate fitting, they might just be ablet o order the samples you want to see and then write a new Rx for the onces you wnat so you can buy a small supply of them. Most doctors will work for you if you let them. That way you would have the benefit of gett ing samples of them in the right colors and sizes you want and have some guidence. It might not cost any more, or it might be nominal. Ask them. I bet you won't be disappointed in the service that you can get if you talk to the Doctor's office and let them help you. Our office has people that do this all the time. It is a normal thing.
