If I got B grades in all of my GCSE's and was off scratch by the time I was 16 would I be able to get a scholarship to a good college in america. e.g stanford? If not tell what I need to improve on.

  1. B grades and a scratch scorecard would be enough to get you some definite looks from a "good college".  However, I don't think that would work for Stanford.  They have a huge waiting list for students with 4.0 gpa, as well as a lot of outstanding athletes that want to attend.  I know a few that accepted partial scholarships, and turned down a full ride elsewhere, just to go to Stanford.  There are a lot of great colleges that would be very interested though.


  2. To get into a Pac 10 school like Stanford on a golf scholarship, you will need to improve both grades and handicap.  You will need to be at a +1 or +2, and have a high GPA.  Your SAT score will need to be above average as well.  Other schools in the Pac 10 will not be as difficult, but you should still improve both golf and grades.

  3. Get A's and get back on scratch! It is as simple as that. However, with your skill you should have no problem playing for any state university...
