  1. Different colleges have different deadlines. I know UC's dates are in early November and Stanford is in late DEcember. Also depends if you do Early Decision. Since your 2009, you should probably start college essays in summer(im graduating 2008, so Ive started mine) and do yourself a favor and get SAT's and SAT subject tests out of the way asap. SAT scores differ from college to college. 2400 doesnt mean you get in. It just mean you got a good SAT score. Im taking the SAt in october, and am Aiming for over 2080. SAt subject tests, try to get 700+.

  2. Make sure everything is in by November 1! Some schools differ but it will ease your stress toward the holidays.

  3. Usually early deadlines are in November and regular deadlines are in january. So, if you're applying early you're SATs need to be done by the November test date and your ACTs need to be done by the October test date. If you're applying regular, January is the last date for SATs. You really need to send your common app ASAP, and since the secondary school report, teacher recommendations, transcripts need to be mailed, I'd do it one month before deadline--you don't want to be stressed out wondering if the colleges received it the last minute. SAT scores vary from school to school- an 1800 is a good score, but if you're thinking of applying to Ivies or more elite schools, a 2100+ is usually what is accepted.
