  1. Once you've finished puberty, your hair won't get thicker, it will get longer as a part of normal hair growth.

    EDIT:

The idea that it will come back thicker is an absolute myth, and it has to do with the fact that, during puberty, a maturing hair follicle will continue to produce thicker hairs until the follicle has fully matured. Each time you shave, you get rid of the less mature (thinner) hair, allowing a thicker hair to grow in. The thickness and fullness does not continue to increase each time you shave after puberty. If it did, then we would all look like apes.

  2. Can I do anything to increase my beard growth?

        Answer:

Not much, sadly. 90% of how your beard looks is determined by genetics and age, whether it's length, color and texture. However, good alimentation and grooming habits will help maximize what you have, keep the hair in optimal shape. Also, choosing the right style of facial hair can really help maximize the impact of your beard.

Facial hair is generally one of the last characteristics of physical maturity to develop during adolescence. Many physically mature guys don't finish developing a fully adult beard until their early 20s or even later. If you're still young, remember that your beard may continue to get thicker as you get older. Many guys notice their beards growing thicker, denser and faster when they enter their 30s and 40s. Give it time!

Some people might be tempted to use hormones or creams or treatments (etc) - to increase their facial hair growth. However, there is NO scientific evidence proving such products have any positive effects on facial hair growth speed, density or anything else.

For example, Rogaine is marketed as a way to grow hair on your head, but I don't believe it's been formally tested on faces. Keep in mind, this board is not meant to be a source of reliable information about this or any other medication. A medical doctor or pharmacist would be able to tell you more.

Will shaving often increase my beard growth?

        Answer:

Short answer: No! People get this impression because when you shave, the “ends” or points of the hairs become blunt instead of soft. So it feels rougher, but the growth is the same. The hair might look darker but it is only because the length is uniform.

One theory for the origin of the myth that shaving makes a beard grow faster is that humans perceive change by proportion.

For example: going from "zero" to half an inch in a month is really noticeable; adding a half an inch to a beard that's already (say) 2 inches long is a much less noticeable change.

In the first case, it's a "100%" proportional change, while in the second case, it's only a 25% change. So even if a beard is growing at a constant half an inch per month, it will *seem* to grow faster at the beginning and slow down as it gets longer, because the proportion of change is dropping.

My spouse/partner complains that my whiskers feel uncomfortable on her/his face. What can I do to make my whiskers softer?

        Answer:

Hair is covered with one or more protective outer layers called the cuticle. The more cuticle layers there are, the coarser the hair feels. Hair on your head is covered with several layers of cuticle, whereas the hair on your arms generally has few cuticle layers and the hair on your face generally has many more. (This can also vary with race and age.) That’s one reason facial hair often feels more wiry and coarse than head hair. Conditioner is designed to soften the cuticle layers, so try using it on your beard. Some guys find that applying coconut oil -- an ingredient in shaving cream that softens whiskers -- also helps.

As a general rule, shorter whiskers often feel stiffer than longer whiskers -- just like an inch-long piece of wire feels stiffer than a foot-long piece of the same wire. Trimming is another factor. Trimming leaves whiskers with blunt, sharp ends. Those ends start to round off after a few days. But if you trim frequently to keep your beard short, your whiskers spend more of their time in the blunt-and-sharp phase -- that may be what your sweetie is feeling.

Wearing somewhat longer whiskers and not trimming so often would give the blunt ends time to become rounded between trims. Longer whiskers are also more flexible and thus feel softer.

  3. It will become both, but each time you shave it will come back thicker.

i am not sure what the other answers about the p***s is for..
