If I had to get surgery to repair a torn ACL....

Question

Would this cause me to be discharged from the military? I recently enlisted in January, and I was supposed to ship out to basic by next month but tore my ACL while at drill. I am worried now that I will be disqualified??

If you already signed most likely they will just push back your ship out date depending on how bad it is and if you have pissed any of them off lately. same happened to a friend his date was pushed back 2 months

You won't be heading to basic. You will need to get it surgically repaired to meet the medical standards. So, your shipping date will be delayed until such time that the joint is stable and without pain or other symptoms. Right now you don't meet the medical standard for entry as set forth below.
