If I have 2 4-ohm subs hooked up to an amp running at 2-ohms, will the wires light up?

A friend told me that if I hooked up 2 4-ohm subs in parallel to the amp running at 2 ohms, that the wires would light up (catch fire), im assuming because theres too much power running through them? I didn't think he was right but I thought i should find out anyways.
