  1. You can use whichever Directv dish you want, as long as the multiswitch provides enough outputs.  The DVR's probably will need 2 staellite inputs each if you want to record (or view) more than one show at a time on one DVR.  The newer 5 LNB dishes are required for HD.


  2. You get up to 4 lines off of one standard dish.  If you want 2 lines in to each dvr, so you can watch 1 and record 1 different channels, then you would need a total of 5 lines.  You might just have 1 line into one of the dvr's - you can only watch/record 1 channel at a time, but you can watch something already recorded while recording something live.
