If I have HSV-2 (genital) and am negative for HSV-1 (oral), can I still pass it on by kissing?

  1. if u don't have cold sores (hsv1 oral herpes) then u can't pass that on by kissing. u can't pass something on that u don't have. but do make sure that your partner doesn't have oral herpes. 80 percent of the populatio has them so they are kind of common. best to have a talk with them about this before u get serious.

    but u can pass on hsv2.


  2. kissing the mouth no, kissing someone's genital with the virus yes. Make sure your partner doesn't have HSV1 or any noticable cold sores on his mouth before you kiss him.
