I have a friend that has it and seems she is on all kinds of limits. Does it depend on how severe it is? I have it in my back, upper and lower and my elbows, hands, knees, and ankles. it hurts when I lift even 5 lbs of anything. Do you think more lifting will help me or hurt me? I am going to ask my doctor but am just looking for some opinions on here for now. Thanks. :)

  1. Unless you are over the age of 25, I doubt you have even started the Osteoarthritis problem.

    Osteoarthritis Important Facts

he primary risk factor for osteoarthritis is age, and the disorder is more common in women

Joint injury increases the risk for osteoarthritis

Obesity and other forms of arthritis also can increase the risk for developing osteoarthritis

Repetitive overuse of the joints through job-related or recreational activity is another risk factor

The major risk factor is age, and approximately 70% of people over the age of 65 show some degree of osteoarthritis upon x-ray.

So from 25 to 65 chances of having OA is slim. Best of Luck
