  1. you can do anything you want, if you know what you're doing. There's no point in doing this much work because it's way to easy to find on with the 4.0L already in it. Sell it and buy what you want.

  2. more trouble than it's worth. you'd need a doner motor along with all of the acc. (alt, starter, radiator...) plus the wiring harness. the tranny might not bolt up so you'd need an adapter plate, and the drive shaft may need to be replaced...a lot of money. if your going to do it yourself and you found a good deal on a wrecked 4.0L wranger....then go for it, it would be a good project. other than that i'd agree and say you'd be better off selling yours and buying a 4.0L wranger. it would save you money in the long run and a lot of time.

  3. If you have the time and money, you can put any engine in your Jeep. I've even seen one with a Cummins diesel from a Dodge truck in it, not to mention all the V-8 conversions that are around.

  4. You can, but for it to be economically viable, I'd think you'd be best off buying a wrecked 4 liter Jeep. To buy everything you need will cost a fortune. You may even be better off selling yours and buying a 4 liter.
