The cam belt on my Ford Focus Zetec 02 needs replacing. The kit for my year of car comes with an automatic tensioner yet the one on it at the moment is a manual one. Do i need to replace with another manual tensioner and if so can this be bought in a kit? or can it just be replaced by the automatic tensioner? Please help.

  1. mmm,not advisable

,i would double check you have the correct kit first....

if it is the right one then go for it...

  2. As per the camel - you've been supplied with the wrong kit, best to get & fit the correct one.

  3. Yes you do need to check if you do have the correct timing belt kit. But manual tensioner could have been updated to a automatic one. But check first.

  4. no, no such thing,
