  1. scholarships are usually given directly to the school. If this is the case, you might have a refund if you have both loans and scholarships. then the refund of the remaining money would be given to you after tuition is paid. You can then do whatever you want with the money.

    if your scholarship is given directly to YOU, not the school, then yeah, you can do whatever you want with it unless the scholarship has rules attached, like, if you don't use this for tuition and books you will have to give it back.

    but most of the time scholoarship money kicks into tuition bill automatically
