I just ran new pipes on top of the ground for my inground pool, but now i have bubbles in the pool. I know its because of a air leak on the suction side. Will it hurt the pump if I continue to run it with this air leak until I find the leak and fix it?

Or should i just shut off the pump until I do fix it?

  1. I think your pump may get damaged as the bearings could over heat if not enough water comes through.

  2. As long as the pump does not loose it's prime you'll be OK...

I suggest you raid your wifes kitchen and take a roll of kling, Saran.. plastic wrap... wrap each connection... when the bubbles stop you've found the leak....
